Trip to the Park
January 16, 2012
We went to the park today! We go almost everyday nowadays, but we didn’t go yesterday, so today it was sooo exciting to go to the park again! I love going to the park! I get so excited on the car ride over to the park every time. I just love going to the park. Here I am enjoying a sunny day at the park with snow still on the ground:

Long time no post
January 14, 2012
We’re sorry we’ve been away from the computer for a while, but we’re still around. We are 8 and 9 years old. Akira will be 10 in April. We now live with three cats, who mostly stay in the other rooms in the house, except Marko. Marko comes to visit us all the time and teases us. I am really more interested in the cat’s toys, than the cats, but sometimes I want to catch a cat, too. We are doing well. We just went to the vet today, as Akira posted below. Here I am post-vets. Do you think the DAP worked or am I just worn out from all the excitement?

Vet Visit
January 14, 2012
Today we went to the Vets. We both got our heart worm tests (negative), and Shiro had to get some shots. They have us DAP bandannas to wear when we are done. Those are bandannas with dog appeasement pheromone on them, supposed to help calm us down. Sis said we look really handsome in them. What do you think?

My Walk Around the Neighborhood
June 26, 2009
The Sis was in. She took Akira to the park, but she can’t handle us both in the car by herself. I don’t know why not. Akira has a harness that the seatbelt goes into. I have one too, but you try getting me into it! Anyways, when they got back, the Sis felt guilty so she took me on a walk all on my own. Akira wanted to come to, but she just took me, Shiro-da-biro. Here are some things we saw on our walk.
Shiro VS the Bear
May 31, 2009
The Sis takes me up to her room for our special times just us no Akira. There I get to play with the stuffies cause Akira can’t play with stuffies cause he kills them and then he takes out all their insides and tears them to pieces. So she takes me up there and today I getted to play with a bear that is more than halfs of me. But I wasn’t scared at all. I showed the bear who is the boss and that is Shiro-da-biro Number One Shiba Inu. Watch how I win against that bear!!
It’s a Good Thing Shibas are Cute
May 26, 2009
Our Sis is telling us sometimes that “It’s a good thing you’re cute so you can get away with it” when we are being ornery. Nothing, serious, we know not to push it too far, but we also know what we can get away with. For example, Mom has her own special chair that she brings into the living room and takes out of it when she’s done. She has a hurt neck, so she is more comfortable in the chair than on the couch. But that chair is comfortable, and when she gets up to do something else, Shiro often jumps up into it. Then if she comes back, Mom thinks, oh he’s so cute sleeping there, i won’t disturb him. See what we mean!
Here’s another example of why it is a good thing Shibas are cute– we can be cover dogs! Our Sis keeps driving by this billboard in Pittsburgh for Z Brand Creative, and we are pretty sure that’s a Shiba Inu. We hope he was well compensated!

Update
May 21, 2009
Hi everydog, Shiro-da-biro, number one Shiba here. I’m doing bunches better, thank you for your wishes. My legs are still a little tender, so I can’t do everything yet, like I can’t jump up my tree after birdies right now. Here are some pictures of us and the Sis from yesterday (Wednesday)

Shiro’s Injury
May 13, 2009
The Sis here. The boys were playing, running around chasing each other and play fighting as usual. My Dad and brother were the only ones home and out of the room. They heard a crash and ran in to see what had happened. Shiro was lying under the table with his front legs out in front of them and he couldn’t get up. My Dad and brother were afraid that he had slammed his legs of a chair rung under the table and broken them both. They had to find a vet that was still open, and travelled about an hour to a 24 hour vet. The vet took x-rays and no bones were broken. He gave Shiro a shot for the pain and some pills. He said it was a deep tissue injury, like a bruise under the skin in the muscle. He is walking a little more gingerly now, but other than that seems like usual. Keep Shiro in your thoughts and prayers though, that he will heal quickly, have no complications, and not get hurt again.
