My Walk Around the Neighborhood
June 26, 2009
The Sis was in. She took Akira to the park, but she can’t handle us both in the car by herself. I don’t know why not. Akira has a harness that the seatbelt goes into. I have one too, but you try getting me into it! Anyways, when they got back, the Sis felt guilty so she took me on a walk all on my own. Akira wanted to come to, but she just took me, Shiro-da-biro. Here are some things we saw on our walk.
Park News

We went to the Park TWICE yesterday! That’s right…twice! Both of us! With the Mom and Dad! In the Car to the Park for a walk! The other day at the park a DEER jumped in front of Dad and Akira. Akira was so excited he pooped. No deer yesterday. Maybe next time!!!
Luv,
Akira and Shiro
Cat-Dog

Does anybody remember a Nickelodeon cartoon called CatDog? Yeah, us neither. Sounds pretty stupid, but the Sis mentioned it after she said that we are Cat dogs, and her new kitten (yes, really) is a Dog cat. Whatever that means. We are dogs. Just because her kitten is more playful and cuddly and plays fetch does not make us less of a dog! What is wrong with being an independent self sufficient pup? We deign to give the humans our royal presence and they want us to come when called. Humans are weird.
So the kitten. Yes. Well, as you may or may not know, the Sis lives most of the time in Pittsburgh now with her fiance and she works there. She is not allowed to have dogs in her apartment (even Cat dogs apparently). She comes home to see us a lot, and spoils us and takes us on long walks when she is here, and always brings treats, so it’s not too bad. The Sis has been volunteering at the Human Society walking dogs, and somehow she took a kitten home from there! What?! Well, I guess that makes us step brothers or half brothers or something, so we’ll put the link to his new blog. He is not bad, he is still a baby, so we’ll give him a chance. His blog is http://markomeow.wordpress.com
Spoiled

Ah, that’s the life. First the brother gave me a nice belly rub, then the Sis takes me on a long walk with just the two of us. Yes, this is the life. Sigh. What more could a Shiba ask for? Roast beef, fresh fish, and lots of cheese would be nice. But, realistically, this is quite nice. On the walk we met a Boston Terrier, but he was bigger than Joe and Tanner and he was brindle spots instead of black spots. Then we met an older yellow lab. Lots of people and dogs out in the nice weather. Now, could a dog get another belly rub, please?
Banana Biscotti
June 1, 2009
Our Sis bought us homemade dog cookies at a Farmer’s Market in Pittsburgh. The lady makes them for her Australian border collie, Henley. She makes many different flavors. Sis got us the banana biscotti flavor. They are shaped like paw prints and they are delicious. They are crunchy, but not too hard or tough. YUM!
