Snowy Walk

January 22, 2012

I love to go on walks in the snow! I love to burrow with my head through the snow and I love to run and jump in the snow. Here is a picture of me after I plowed my head through the snow and had snow all over my face!

The Cats Who Live With Us

January 15, 2012

It’s true. We now have to live WITH CATS. We are mostly kept separately, but Marko comes over the gate to visit us all the time. The other two cats, Marcel and Ani, just visit us behind the gate. They are not so bad, only they have lots of cool toys that they don’t let us play with! I am very mellow about the cats, Live and Let Live, I say, but Shiro sometimes goes berserker on them and barks at them or chases Marko. Oh well, that’s life. Here are Marko and Marcel chatting with me:

Vet Visit

January 14, 2012

Today we went to the Vets. We both got our heart worm tests (negative), and Shiro had to get some shots. They have us DAP bandannas to wear when we are done. Those are bandannas with dog appeasement pheromone on them, supposed to help calm us down. Sis said we look really handsome in them. What do you think?

June 2, 2009

Ah, that’s the life. First the brother gave me a nice belly rub, then the Sis takes me on a long walk with just the two of us. Yes, this is the life. Sigh. What more could a Shiba ask for? Roast beef, fresh fish, and lots of cheese would be nice. But, realistically, this is quite nice. On the walk we met a Boston Terrier, but he was bigger than Joe and Tanner and he was brindle spots instead of black spots. Then we met an older yellow lab. Lots of people and dogs out in the nice weather. Now, could a dog get another belly rub, please?

Akira: This must be a doctored photo because I do not recall this happening.

Shiro: Maybe I was cold. Maybe the other side of the couch was wet or smelly. Maybe I was pushing Akira off to take his spot.

The Sis: Maybe you two LOVE EACH OTHER! Just accept it!

With a black button nose, little pricked ears and a curly tail, the Shiba enters the world knowing he is a superior being. Whether with intrepid boldness, squinty-eyed cuteness or calm dignity, he is king.~ from

I do not know why I tolerate such things, but it seems to make the Sis happy to dress me up in bandannas, so I humour her. Yes, there is indeed one for every season. Sigh. At least I look good in blue….

A Shiba Sized House

May 1, 2009

We found this little stone house on our walk in the park with the Sis and the Dad. For  a minute we were afraid that they were going to leave us there to live in this little stone house, but they just explored it with us. Then Akira said, okay time to go. So we went on our walk more. It was a pretty cool little house, and we liked to play in it, but not to live in it. We want to keep living in our big house with our own couch and our blankets and stuff. Look at the house, though, and how little it is! Or maybe we got bigger!!!
